I really need to take a moment to vent if you don't mind. This probably shouldn't bother me, but it does. I submitted my Milky Way Cupcake Icing to AllRecipes.com
If you are familiar with the site, you know that you can write a review and rate the recipes. Of course, there are always people out there who change the recipe, fail to measure and then give you a bad rating and there other people who rate a recipe according to their taste buds. Those things are a given and every recipe is going to receive some mediocre reviews.
My Milky Way Cupcake Icing had a few of those mediocre or bad reviews, but the majority of people liked the recipe so far. I monitor the ratings and reviews of my recipe on AllRecipes.com and I noticed that TODAY, someone went to all of my bad reviews and intentionally clicked on them as "helpful." The reviews that are voted the most helpful are on the front page with the recipe. I went from having one bad review on the front page to having them all on the front page in one day.
This really upsets me because when people look at this recipe, they will scroll down and see all of these unhelpful 3/5 star ratings. It upsets me there are adults, mean trolls out there who take pleasure in ruining something like this for their pleasure. My review for my own recipe offers some advice and is quite helpful and was rated the most helpful until today when it was knocked down as whoever is out there rating the bad reviews and bumping those up to make me look bad and knocking truly helpful reviews off the front page.
Don't tell me that it shouldn't bother me because it does. I contacted AllRecipes.com about the intentional sabotage of the recipe and I am waiting to hear back from them about the matter. Thank you for allowing me to vent.
